After completing a union apprenticeship in finish cabinetry in 1974, working under a number of Bemidi finest cabinetmakers and attending the Bemidji State University Industrial Arts Department woodworking classes, Chris Keenan became self-employed. Keenan's Cabinets of Distinction has been at its present location, 1008 Paul Bunyan Drive SE since 1978. Slowly expanding over the years it now includes a 5,600 square foot shop as well as a fabulous 2,000 square foot showroom office area. Chris and his wife Kelly, along with 4 other full time employees help to keep the business running smoothly and efficiently. The computer aids in the companies organized professionalism with drawing programs in the office and computer driven machines in the shop.
